Hammer reflects a feeling and a sense of quality. The design is inspired by the Danish island of Bornholm and the nature around the old fortress of Hammershus. Twist the top to grind up pepper corns or salt flakes, and lift it up to refill the grinder.

PROPER USAGE AND MAINTENANCE

Proper usage and maintenance is vital for getting the most out of the valuable resources we have. Our designs are made to last for generations, but just like everything else, they need a little care to get there.

OAK

Origin
Oak grows in most temperate zones. The Skagerak oak comes from European forests and is either 100% FSC certified or FSC mix certified, supporting sustainable forest management. The selection of the wood is extremely careful and all processing is by hand, so that only the best and most durable pieces of wood are used in production.

Why
Oak is a sturdy and hardwearing type of wood containing natural tannins that will protect against bacterial growth. Combined with its light, elegant colour and well-defined grains, this makes oak wood safe choice for high-quality interior and accessories.

Cleaning
The wood comes with no finish. If you choose not to treat it with soap or oil, use a suitable cleaning agent for wood.

Maintenance
As the wood is untreated it may be affected by grease and colorants. For this reason, we recommend saturating the wood with soap or a suitable furniture oil to make it more resistant. If you wish to use soap or oil, use a suitable product. Be aware that the wood will change colour when applying soap or oil.

Note
Your new oak product is not suitable for dishwasher.

Please be aware that wet untreated oak can leave stains on a surface, like a table top or tablecloth. Water extracts the natural tannins in the wood which might leave discolorations on a surface.

OILED TEAK

Origin
Our FSC-certified teak comes from Central America, Brazil and Indonesia, while our non-certified teak comes from plantations in Southeast Asia and Trinidad; managed to sustain a renewable and reliable supply of wood.

Why
Teak is a heavy, hard and sturdy wood type. The high content of natural oils makes it highly resistant and it is therefore a good choice for all kinds of furniture.

Cleaning
Clean with soapy water and a soft brush right after use. Be aware that the product is not dishwasher safe.

Oil treatment
The teak has been treated with food safe oil to improve its resistance. We recommend that you treat the wood occasionally with a safe and flavourless oil – e.g. worktop oil – to preserve the glow and resistance. If the product is not oiled the surface may change colour over time and become silvery grey.
